Finding
Bike Racks that are Easy to Use
The older model bike racks that
merely lock one wheel to the bike rack are probably the easiest to use,
but certainly not the most secure. These bikes are still in abundance on
school campuses. The security of these bike racks may be adequate
provided that the racks are positioned near classrooms or school offices
which may deter would-be thieves from trying to steal the bikes during
school hours.
Bike racks which are designed in whimsical shapes are often found in
parks or playgrounds. These bike racks are actually quite simple to use,
because they are normally designed with children in mind.
The bike racks which are easiest to use include those which have easy
access to the bike. This would include bike racks which are positioned
in areas that do not obstruct vehicle or foot traffic so that people are
able to easily enter and exit the area of the bike racks.
Bike racks that permit the U-shaped locks to be used on the bike
normally allow for a simple parking and retrieval of the bike. The bike
racks, as well as the U-shaped locks themselves, are quite simple to use
even by a young child.
The bike lockers are also quite simple to use as you merely park your
bike inside a locker and then lock the actual locker so that your bike
remains secure. These lockers are built quite soundly so that they
cannot be broken into easily. However, the parking and removal of your
bike is a very simple process when using these lockers.
