Bike Racks for Storage

Even if you keep your bike in the garage, don't assume that it is safe from thefts. Most bike thefts actually occur from the home or garage, therefore, it is best to keep your bike locked at home when it is not in use.

Most people do not have a lot of room for storage in their garage, especially those who park two (or more) cars in there. Thus, bike racks on the wall or ceiling will provide people with much more space in the garage.

When choosing a bike rack for the garage, you must first determine your accessibility needs. Even though road bikes are very lightweight, they can be quite cumbersome. You will need to pre-measure the location where you are going to store the bike and look over the specifications and dimensions of the bike rack before purchasing one. You need to keep in mind that you can use either the garage floor, walls or ceiling.

Two-bar bike racks can be taken off of a vehicle and stored onto a garage wall with the use of a garage mount. You can use either a ball-mounting device or a type-approval device for the garage mount.

A brand known as “Garage Saver” is a versatile bike rack that will lessen the space that a bike needs in the garage because it enables two bikes to be parked side by side or opposite each other. The bikes’ axles are supported by foam-coated depressions within carbon-steel wire hoops, thereby holding the bike securely in place without scratching it. However, this rack should not be used with bikes that have front-disc brakes. The device contains feet which are rubber-tipped to prevent the bike from moving.
